Arkansas Beats Georgia Tech, 7-5
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Arkansas Razorbacks and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets were able to complete their ballgame.
Georgia Tech center fielder Ricardo Morales was sensational. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Arkansas beat the Yellow Jackets, 7-5. Morales was named the player of the game despite the loss. Earning his 6th save of the year was Edward Benson.
Jim Unknown struck a blow for the Razorbacks in the top of the third when he hit a 3-run home run. It put his team ahead, 3-0. For the game, Unknown went 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
In postgame remarks, Unknown said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
Arkansas, now 10-14, holds 18th place in the Ron Fraser Division.
