Volunteers Rally For Late Win Over Yellow Jackets
In a low-scoring clash between Tennessee and Georgia Tech, pitcher Dave Schmidt was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Tennessee in the 3-2 win. The save went to Carl Bailey, his 3rd this season. The Volunteers now own a record of 9-12.

Jim Harrell was involved in some late-game drama. With two out in the bottom of the eighth, Harrell hit a 2-run single. It helped Tennessee snatch the win.

"I like what I saw today," said Tennessee manager Michael Simpson, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
