4-3 Cavaliers Win over Razorbacks Evens Season Record
|
Virginia Cavaliers starter Ernest Sizemore was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Arkansas Razorbacks, 4-3. The winning pitcher was Sizemore, now 2-2. He tossed 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 8. Andy Logan closed the door for Virginia, picking up his 4th save of the year.
With one out in the top of the sixth, Troy Ellis hit a go-ahead run-scoring single. It was his 17th hit of the season and with it the Cavaliers took a 4-3 lead.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Arkansas skipper Jody Burkett, "and it cost us."
The 12th-place Cavaliers improved to 10-10.
