Rain could not dampen the pregame excitement of Georgia fans at Castles Ballpark. But the subsequent loss, and a disappointing one at that, to the Yellow Jackets had to.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets put together a convincing win at Castles Ballpark, defeating the Georgia Bulldogs, 12-2. Ricardo Morales was one of the hitting stars. He was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 6 runs and scored once for Georgia Tech. Jeff Davidson was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts.

The Yellow Jackets took a 11-1 lead in the top of the seventh inning. Facing Georgia hurler José Saldaña with one out, Morales hit a bases-clearing double.
