Razorbacks Bump Off Gamecocks, 5-4
|
Arkansas Razorbacks starter Brian Weaver was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the South Carolina Gamecocks, 5-4. Arkansas reliever Josh Gregory picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Miguel Angel Chávez was saddled with the loss. Edward Benson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.
Alex House had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for the Razorbacks. Coming up with runners on 1st and 2nd and Arkansas trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run double.
"We found a way to get it done," Weaver said.
Arkansas goes to 8-10, South Carolina to 8-9.
