Yellow Jackets Suffer 5-2 Loss to Hurricanes
|
Though he had a great game, John Gregg could not single-handedly produce a win for Georgia Tech. Miami won the game, 5-2. Gregg was named the player of the game. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Raymond Riley got the win, improving to 2-1. He held the Yellow Jackets to 2 runs on 4 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Allen Kern closed it out for his 1st save.
Ken Donovan took Jeff Davidson deep in the bottom of the fourth. His solo home run put the Hurricanes in front, 2-1. For the game, Donovan went 2-4 with a home run.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Donovan told reporters after the game.
The Hurricanes now have a mark of 11-6.
