Seminoles Top Buckeyes to Even Record
|
The Florida State Seminoles topped the Ohio State Buckeyes, 6-4, in Skip Bertman League action at Ballpark of Riverdale College. The player of the game was Florida State pitcher and Fontana, California native Jun-soo Kim. The winner was Florida State reliever Will Larson, now 3-0. The loser was Tommy Snow. Florida State, now 8-8, holds 13th place in the Ron Fraser Division.
Andy Walters was 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Florida State. With two out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh, Walters, who is tied for 2nd in the SBL in triples with 2, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Ohio State hurler Javier Cardona, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Seminoles a 5-4 lead.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Walters said in reaction to the win.
