Demon Deacans Beat Crimson Tide, 5-2
|
Wake Forest right-hander Erwin Clark pitched his team to victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide at Cypress Quarters College Grounds. The final score was 5-2. Zachary Peterson earned the save, his 4th. Wake Forest now sits in 11th place in the Ron Fraser Division at 8-6.
The Demon Deacans got a big at-bat from second baseman Norberto Rivera. For the game, Rivera was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Wake Forest a 3-0 lead.
"I had a good game," said Rivera. "Winning makes it even better."
