Slaughter Helps Virginia Outscore Florida State
The Virginia Cavaliers and Florida State Seminoles lit up the scoreboard at Ballpark of Redwood College.

Kevin Slaughter was the difference-maker for the Virginia Cavaliers in what turned into a shootout with the Florida State Seminoles. Slaughter earned the player of the game award after going 3-for-5 in the 19-10 Cavaliers win. The 8th-place Cavaliers now have a win-loss record of 9-5.

Slaughter had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the first, when he hit a 2-run double. The Cavaliers went on to win.

Florida State manager Gene Barraclough said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score in double digits, you expect to win the game."
