Tigers Come Up Short at Arkansas
|
The Arkansas Razorbacks beat the Clemson Tigers, 7-6, at Ramparts Ballpark. Arkansas center fielder Roy Sanderson earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Allen Rowe picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Scott Elliott took the loss. Edward Benson closed the game out for Arkansas, earning his 3rd save.
Sanderson had a key at-bat for Arkansas early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and gave Arkansas an early 3-0 lead.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Jody Burkett.
The Razorbacks improved to 6-8.
