The game between Michigan and Kansas is in the books, despite a little rain.

The Michigan Wolverines cruised to a 12-4 win over the Kansas Jayhawks at Brutes Ballpark today. Shawn Smith led the way, going 4-for-4 for Michigan. Jason Nash closed the door for Michigan, picking up his 1st save of the year.

Also pitching in was Michigan designated hitter Matt Tate, who hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth. For the game, Tate went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.

"Some wins are easy, some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Tate told the Michigan Daily.

Michigan now sits in 8th place in the Ron Fraser Division at 8-5.
