Gray Leads Salukis to Win over Sycamores
The umbrellas came out during the South Illinois-Indiana State contest at Field of the Shield.

The South Illinois Salukis easily defeated the Indiana State Sycamores, 12-4, at Field of the Shield, with right fielder Jon Gray a main contributor to the win. He was 2-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 6 for South Illinois. Jeffery Fox, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings.

The contest featured some late-game dramatics from South Illinois right fielder Jon Gray. In the bottom of the eighth inning, with no one out and the bases loaded, Gray hit a grand slam to help South Illinois seize the win.

"Getting the win feels pretty nice," said Gray. "More importantly, I had a good game."

The Indiana State losing streak has now reached 4 games.
