Victory Pushes Bulldogs Record to 8-5
|
Georgia got a first-rate effort from pitcher John Henderson, who frustrated South Carolina hitters en route to a 3-1 Bulldogs triumph at Field of the Plunder. Henderson, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 1 walk. Sancho López earned the save for Georgia, his 3rd of the year.
John Hofmann helped the Georgia cause with one out in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Georgia leading 2-1, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Henderson. "But I have better dreams after a win."
Georgia is now 8-5.
