Auburn Wins 4-2 to Continue Red Hot Start
|
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements at Zodiac Ballpark enjoyed themselves.
Tigers designated hitter Gabriel Petersen put his stamp on his team's 4-2 win over the Ohio State Buckeyes. Petersen went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk for Auburn in the contest. Auburn reliever Ryan Daugherty got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Chris Lannigan was tagged with the loss.
Auburn took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, when John Lawrence hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Tigers fans to their feet.
"This team is real focused right now," said Auburn Tigers manager Victor Rafferty.
The Tigers, at 9-3, have now won 5 straight.
