Fans at Ballpark of Redwood College were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Virginia Cavaliers take on the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Ohio State used a superb performance from starting pitcher Dave Johnston to down the Virginia Cavaliers, 4-1. With the win over Virginia, the Buckeyes improved to 5-5.

With a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the second inning, catcher Joe Porter delivered big for the Buckeyes. Ohio State was leading 1-0 when he belted a 2-run home run.

"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Johnston. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
