Hurricanes Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Miami Hurricanes bested the Wake Forest Demon Deacans by a score of 10-4, with first baseman Leo Travis getting the main credit. On the day, Travis was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Hurricanes. The Hurricanes, now 6-3, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Doing his part for Miami was second baseman Randy Haynes, who stroked a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Haynes went 2 for 5 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"You can't take yourself too seriously," Travis told the Miami Today. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
