Vanderbilt starter Mike Fuller pitched effectively against the Oklahoma Sooners at Ballpark of Barrow College. The left-hander led his team to a 5-3 win. Fuller, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. Peter Dunbar earned the save, his 1st.

In the bottom of the third, Harry Tufts hit a 2-run double for Vanderbilt. The 1st double of the season for the Vanderbilt first baseman put the Commodores on top, 2-0.

Tufts called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."

Vanderbilt is now 3-1.
