Hurricanes Cut Down Cyclones, 5-3
|
It was a good time at Gremlins Ballpark, where fans came to watch the Iowa State Cyclones and Miami Hurricanes get after it.
The Miami Hurricanes grabbed a 5-3 win over the Iowa State Cyclones at Gremlins Ballpark. Miami shortstop Desmond Hansen went 3-4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs to earn player of the game honors. Miami reliever Mike Whaley got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Jimmy Rathore was tagged with the loss.
Mac Ryan was a key contributor to the win for the Hurricanes. In the bottom of the seventh with two out, the light-hitting shortstop stroked a double to right-center. He did the little things right to help the team.
"This was a good win," said Ryan.
With the loss, Iowa State drops to 2-2.
