Benefiting from the performance of Dale Miller, the Vanderbilt Commodores defeated the Iowa State Cyclones, 10-5. Miller went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs for the Commodores. The win was John Burrell's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Huey Moore took the loss for Iowa State. Athan Ladas was credited with the save for Vanderbilt, his 1st of the season.

Foster Miller had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the seventh for the Commodores. Coming up with the bases loaded and Vanderbilt trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Miller.

Losses have been few and far between for the Cyclones so far this season. Their record drops to 2-1.
