Cyclones Need Extra Frames to Get Past Yellow Jackets
Iowa State center fielder Jason Austin had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 9-7. Iowa State, now 2-0, has gotten their season off to a good start.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With two out, Jim Pennington hit a 2-1 fastball from Rick Parker for a 2-run single. It put Iowa State in front, 9-7.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Austin told the Iowa State Observer.
