Tar Heels Raise Rally Flag, Beat Auburn, 7-6
North Carolina second baseman Craig Wilson was instrumental in his team's 7-6 win over the Auburn Tigers. Wilson went 3-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Tar Heels. North Carolina reliever Jim Unknown picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Domingo Pérez absorbed the loss. The Tar Heels, now 2-0, have stormed out of the gates.

Shawn Stewart was the walk-off hero for North Carolina. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the North Carolina right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Wilson.
