Commodores Lose, 6-2, at Titans Ballpark
|
The Alabama Crimson Tide began the 2028 season with a convincing 6-2 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores at Titans Ballpark. Most impressive was Alabama right fielder Josh Rowland, who slugged 2 home runs. Pancho Soriano picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 1-0. Jim Unknown locked down his 1st save.
Robby Caldwell aided the Alabama cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter drew 1 walk.
"I thought we played a nice game," Rowland told the Alabama Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
