Gómez Sizzles -- Smokes Sasquatch for 5 Hits
|
It was a good day for the Jesters at Sick's Stadium as they clipped the Seattle Sasquatch, 5-3. It was tremendous day for Edgardo Gómez, who was on a hitting barrage at the plate, finishing 5-for-5.
"I don't know what to call that," the Jersey center fielder told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well."
Edgardo Gómez singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Koryusai Uchida in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This year Gómez has collected a .293 batting average to date with 135 hits in 460 at-bats, 48 RBIs, 11 home runs and scored 51 times. He has played in 119 games.
