Frosties Stick Emeralds with 6-5 Loss
|
Eugene second baseman Roy Johnston had a terrific game. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Barrow beat the Emeralds, 6-5. Johnston was named the player of the game despite the loss. Tsuneyo Kichikawa picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 4 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 6-5. Getting the save was Tokuhei Yano, his 17th.
In the bottom of the first, Takahashi Takahashi hit a 2-run triple for Barrow. The 1st triple of the season for the Barrow right fielder put the Frosties on top, 2-0.
"It feels good to get this one," Takahashi told the Barrow Times.
