The skies opened up and the rain fell at The Republic.

New Orleans got a terrific performance from pitcher Romain Quere, but it wasn't enough to beat the Chippewa River Chiefs. Chippewa won the The Republic contest, 4-3. Quere was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Chippewa reliever Pablo Martínez picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Octávio López absorbed the loss. George Fortin Jr. was called on to finish, recording his 29th save.

This game was not decided until late. With two out in the top of the 12th, Wang Tong drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The River Chiefs took the lead, 4-3.

"If you ever get this game figured out," said New Orleans manager Mathew Thomas, "let me know."

The River Chiefs have an impressive 70-43 record.
