Vikings Bump Off Jedi Knights, 7-2
|
The New Orleans Jedi Knights went down to defeat to Jeff Duff and his Victoria teammates. The final score was 7-2 in favor of the Vikings. The winning pitcher was Duff, now 7-4. He tossed 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 9. Picking up the save was Toshiharu Sasaki, his 2nd.
The Vikings got a big at-bat from left fielder Lee Cong. For the game, Cong was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Victoria a 2-0 lead.
"We had a nice day," said Victoria skipper Charles Luce.
At 54-57, the Vikings find themselves in 5th place in the Buck O'Neil League San Diego Chicken Division.
