Panthers Stick Saints with 5-1 Loss
|
The Charleston Panthers stymied the St. Paul Saints, 5-1, at Franklin Mountains Field. Donald Trump Jr., who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 3-4 with a triple and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Charleston. Victor Hernandez, the winner, improved to 1-2. He held the Saints to 1 runs on 2 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 4. The Panthers saw their record improve to 41-70.
Trump Jr. had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the third for the Panthers. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Charleston trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run triple.
