With right fielder Manny Silva leading the charge, the San Angelo Mustangs defeated the Winfield Warriors, 4-3, at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. Silva went 2 for 3 with a home run. Luis Domínguez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 23 of 25 save opportunities. San Angelo now owns a record of 64-44.
Sumiteru Nakagawa drove in one run for San Angelo. In the bottom of the fifth, with the teams deadlocked, 3-3, Nakagawa delivered for the Mustangs. His run-scoring hit-by-pitch put San Angelo on top, 4-3.
"Enjoyed this one," Silva told the San Angelo Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
