Blue Claws Knock Off San Angelo at Old Bay Park
|
The Baltimore Blue Claws defeated the San Angelo Mustangs, 6-3, in Buck O'Neil League action at Old Bay Park, with Baltimore pitcher Masaharu Aoki named player of the game. Baltimore reliever Todd Couch was the winner. His record is now 3-4. The losing pitcher was J.J. Crawford. Dae-je Kwak converted his 5th save in 9 tries.
Tied up with the Mustangs in the bottom of the sixth, the Blue Claws got a boost from center fielder Moromao Oshima. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Oshima saw a first pitch fastball from Murdoch Beach and hit a 2-run triple to break the stalemate and put Baltimore on top, 5-3.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Baltimore skipper David Parker. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
Baltimore currently is in second place in the Buck O'Neil League Mariner Moose Division at 61-46.
