Chippewa Hot Streak Continues with 6-2 Win
|
The Chippewa River Chiefs picked up a win at Coney Island Coliseum, knocking off the Coney Island Cyclones, 6-2. On the mound for Chippewa was right-hander Juan Martínez, who played a pivotal role in the win. Martínez got the win, improving to 7-6. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Martínez allowed no earned runs. The wins continue to add up for Chippewa, with the latest making it 7 in a row.
Also pitching in was Chippewa pinch hitter Yan-hao Lao, who hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, Lao was 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
