Loss Extends Charleston Losing Streak
|
Pitcher Ukessun Ilaes was sensational for the Winfield Warriors in his team's 9-1 triumph over the Charleston Panthers. Ilaes received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Ilaes went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 5-0. Lenny Tremlett was credited with the save for Winfield, his 4th of the season.
In the bottom of the third, Winfield catcher Iván Pérez had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and two out, Pérez stroked a 2-run double to right-center. It made the score 2-0, Winfield. For the game, he went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
