In a tight contest at Grand Canyon Valley Park, the Boise Bloodhounds edged the Winfield Warriors by the score of 5-4. Boise designated hitter Xiao-peng Chuang, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Boise starter Rob Frost was credited with the win after throwing 85 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-3. Robinson Merrado earned his 7th save in 12 tries.
In the bottom of the third, Ángel Flores hit a 2-run single for Boise. The 71st hit of the season for the Boise first baseman put the Bloodhounds on top, 3-2.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Chuang said.
With the victory, the Bloodhounds record now stands at 45-59.
