Warriors Solve Bloodhounds, 6-2
|
The Winfield Warriors downed the Boise Bloodhounds, 6-2, at Grand Canyon Valley Park. Tsunayoshi Ono led the way, going 2-for-4 for Winfield. José Trevino picked up the save for Winfield, his 2nd of the year. The Warriors, at 56-47, sit in 4th place in the Buck O'Neil League San Diego Chicken Division.
Nicaragua-born Iván Pérez came through in the clutch. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st and the Warriors trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run to left-center to put Winfield on top.
Ono attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
