The Victoria Vikings defeated the Coney Island Cyclones, 7-4, in Buck O'Neil League action at The drakkar, with Victoria pitcher Juan Cruz named player of the game. The Vikings move to 51-53 with the win, while the Cyclones drop to 42-62.

Ed Weston was one of the major contributors to the win for Victoria. The light-hitting shortstop stroked a single to right in the bottom of the second inning. For the day, he went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Cruz.
