Pitcher Kichibei Endo was sensational for the Chippewa River Chiefs in his team's 8-1 triumph over the Eugene Emeralds. Endo received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Matsuyo Koda recorded his 2nd save for Chippewa. Chippewa has now won 5 straight.
Endo, a native of Neyagawa, Japan, was dealing all game. He kept Eugene hitters off-balance, while giving the River Chiefs 6.2 quality innings. Endo threw 87 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 12.
"Kichibei was throwing free and easy," said Chippewa manager Bruce Leah.
