Victoria Bats Go Silent in 2-0 Loss
|
In a tight game between the Eugene Emeralds and the Victoria Vikings, pitcher Cai-fei Men was terrific on the mound. The Eugene right-hander was named the player of the game in Eugene's 2-0 win. Eugene reliever José Díaz picked up the win, bumping his record to 6-1. Yoshimochi Chikuda was collared with the loss. The Eugene winning streak has now reached 5 games.
Iván Romo broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the seventh with a 2-run single. It put the Emeralds in front, 2-0. For the game, Romo was 1 for 2 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"We did just enough to win," Romo said.
