Ukessun Ilaes never let the Jedi Knights get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his change up, to pitch the Warriors to a 6-1 win. Ilaes, the winner, moves to 4-0. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 4 walks. Alfonso Romero got the save, the 1st for him this season.

A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the third inning when the Warriors sent teenager Tsuneo Yoshida to the plate against Jedi Knights hurler Dao-zi Chou. With runners on 1st and 2nd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a home run off a 3-1 fastball to score 3.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Yoshida told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."

The second-place Jedi Knights have lost 4 consecutive games.
