Panthers Take Down Knights, 3-2

The bats were silent much of the day at Stable Park. But Jorge Rodríguez conjured up just enough offense to carry the Panthers past the Kingwood Knights, 3-2. Rodríguez was 3 for 3 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times. The winner was Francisco Zúńiga, who threw 85 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits. With the win over Kingwood, the Panthers improved to 37-61.
Had Donald Trump Jr. not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Trump Jr. hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Panthers.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Charleston manager Todd Hall.
