The Armada took Jacksonville pitcher John Holmes's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Lucky 7 Ballpark. The final score was 4-3, Quebec. Holmes went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 3. Pin-zhen Au nailed down his 13th save. After today's action, Quebec sits at 25-28, while Jacksonville falls to 28-27.
Had Shunso Fukuda not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases empty, Fukuda hit a solo home run. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Armada.
"Both teams played hard," said Quebec manager Neal Jackson.
