River Chiefs Reel Off Another Win
|
Chippewa pinch hitter Joseph Akers had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Victoria Vikings, 8-2. The win was credited to Ben Crabb in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Jean-François Blot took the loss. The wins continue to add up for Chippewa, with the latest making it 13 in a row.
A key at-bat came in the top of the seventh inning. With the bases loaded, the batter, Jang-lu Xiang, hit a sacrifice fly. It made the score 3-2, Chippewa, and helped them go on to win.
"We'll keep riding this wave as long as we can," said Chippewa River Chiefs manager Bruce Leah.
