River Chiefs Win Again, Extend Streak to 10
|
Chippewa River Chiefs starter Manchu Woo turned in a sterling performance against the Nichols Gnats, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. The win was Ramón Román's in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Thurman Snider took the loss for Nichols. The winning continues for Chippewa, with the latest making it 10 straight.
Parking one for Chippewa was Doug Turner. The catcher had a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth for the River Chiefs. It put his team ahead, 3-2, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Turner went 1-3 with a home run and a walk.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Woo told the Chippewa Daily News. "But we take nothing for granted."
