The Eugene Emeralds defeated the Winfield Warriors, 13-5, in Buck O'Neil League action at The Barn, with Eugene right fielder Gerd Zabel named player of the game. Francisco Cohen picked up the win, improving his season record to 8-6. He struck out 3 in 6 innings. The slumping Warriors have dropped 10 in a row.

Zabel in the top of the fourth had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the Emeralds leading 3-2, he hit a grand slam.

"Anytime we get it going, it puts a smile on my face," said Zabel.
