José Padilla made an impact in the 11-6 Eugene win over Winfield. Padilla, who is tied for 10th in the BOL in RBI with 47, went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Eugene reliever Juan Pérez picked up the win to move to 2-0. Norberto Bianchi suffered the loss. Winfield is in the throes of a 9-game skid.

Roy Johnston had the most critical at-bat for Eugene. With one in the top of the tenth inning, Johnston hit a 1-1 curveball from Norberto Bianchi for a 2-run single. It put Eugene in front, 7-5.

"It was terrific getting this win," Padilla said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
