Despite a great performance by Brooklyn center fielder Kazuki Yamamoto, the San Diego Hops defeated the Black Knights by the score of 7-3 at The Brew Stade. Yamamoto was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. Even with the win, the Hops have a dismal 19-36 record.

It could have been a different outcome for San Diego, had it not been for Ricardo Romo, the 31-year old left fielder . Romo contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second inning to put San Diego up, 2-1.

Romo told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
