Panthers Suffer 4-3 Setback
|
Coney Island beat Charleston at Coney Island Coliseum, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Chris Bacon, who earned player of the game honors. Iwane Kaneko earned the save for Coney Island, his 4th of the year. Coney Island is in 5th place in the Buck O'Neil League Mariner Moose Division with a record of 35-50.
Coney Island took a 4-3 lead on Nobuharu Ageda's 7th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Ageda hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Charleston pitcher Debashish Virasana shaking his head.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Ageda. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
