Octávio Pérez never let Nichols get something going. The Winfield left-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Warriors to a 6-1 win. With the win over Nichols, the Warriors improved to 48-34.

Pérez, who leaned on his fastball, allowed no runs on just 3 hits over 7 innings for the Warriors. For the most part, Nichols hitters were simply overmatched.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Pérez said.
