River Chiefs Suffer 6-2 Setback
The San Angelo Mustangs faced a tough opponent in Chippewa pitcher Felipe Arreola, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Reservation by a final score of 6-2. Arreola went 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. San Angelo reliever Todd Mullins got the win, raising his record to 3-2. Ramón Román was tagged with the loss. The second-place Mustangs improved to 51-32.

Had Kent Landry not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Landry hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Mustangs.

"The beers will taste better tonight after this win," said the ever-candid Landry.
