Jedi Knights Beat Emeralds, 4-2
|
The New Orleans Jedi Knights and Eugene Emeralds completed their game despite the rain.
The New Orleans Jedi Knights defeated the Eugene Emeralds, 4-2, in Buck O'Neil League action at The Republic, with New Orleans pitcher Tagashashi Ueda named player of the game. Yoshikazu Ichihara earned the save, his 8th, for the Jedi Knights.
The Jedi Knights beat the Emeralds in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Yukio Hayakawa produced in the bottom of the second. Batting against Eugene pitcher Yasukazu Kouda, Hayakawa gave his team a 2-1 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
"We did enough to win," said Ueda.
New Orleans goes to 51-25. The win puts them 4 games up in their division.
