The first-place New Orleans Jedi Knights welcomed Eugene to The Republic.

New Orleans beat Eugene at The Republic, escaping with a 4-3 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Bruno Spear, who earned player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. New Orleans reliever En-guo Guan picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Philippe Vincent absorbed the loss. Yoshikazu Ichihara finished to wrap up his 7th save.

Kol-in-sen Pai found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Eugene hurler Philippe Vincent, the 21-year-old left fielder hit a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season put the Jedi Knights on top, 4-3.

In comments to the New Orleans Herald, Pai insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.

New Orleans is now 50-25, 3 games up in the Buck O'Neil League San Diego Chicken Division.
