The 2028 season is getting ugly for Kingwood.

Winfield Warriors starter Octávio Pérez pitched a strong game against the Kingwood Knights at The Barn, leading the Warriors to a 7-3 win. The win was Naganori Sakaguchi's in relief. His record improves to 5-0. Kagera Sokoine took the loss for Kingwood. Norberto Bianchi, credited with the save, is now 3 for 5 in save opportunities.

Winfield took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Jorge Barrera hit a run-scoring double to make it 4-3, Warriors.

"Today was a lot of fun," said Barrera.

With the win over Kingwood, the Warriors improved to 45-31.
